SUGAR HILL ASSISTED LIVING WELCOMES NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Erica Girgenti joins Sugar Hill
NOVEMBER 3, 2021 DALTON, MA – Sugar Hill Assisted Living is proud to announce and welcome Erica Girgenti as the facility’s Executive Director. Girgenti will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the campus, overseeing all departments and general management responsibilities.
Girgenti, who was born and raised in Adams, holds an undergraduate degree in Social Work and a master’s degree in Human Services. In her former role as the Director of the Town of Adams Council on Aging (COA), Girgenti spent the past decade serving her community through public service. Prior to that, Girgenti held positions as a social worker, psychological therapist and various supervisory roles in the aging industry.
In addition to Girgenti’s employment, she has sat on numerous Boards over the years, including the Massachusetts COA Advisory Board, Adams Housing Authority Board, Elder Services Advisory Board, Northern Berkshire Community Coalition, and Age Friendly Berkshires. In 2015, she was named one of Berkshire Magazine’s Berkshires 25’s most dedicated, most creative, most influential persons and in 2016, she followed with Berkshire Community College’s 40 Under 40 award. Most recently, Girgenti was awarded the 2021 Woman of Achievement award given by Berkshires Business and Professional Women's Association.
This background has helped Girgenti to make a seamless transition to Sugar Hill.
"I'm looking forward to welcoming the Sugar Hill family into my own. I take great pleasure in working with others and look forward to getting to know the residents. Furthermore, I look forward to opening the doors to future community members while getting a chance to offer them optimal aging opportunities. My motto has always been "age with us" and Sugar Hill offers that chance and so much more.”
“We are thrilled to have Erica on board. She is deeply connected to the community and has made it her life’s work to improve the lives of seniors,” said Kristen Reilly McHugh, director of operations – North/West, for BaneCare Management, the management organization for Sugar Hill. “Erica has a proven track record of providing exceptional care and programming to older adults, while creating an environment that values compassion, dignity and respect for our residents.”
