5-Star rated nursing center joins approximately 12% of nursing homes nationwide qualifying for the new federal designation
DUXBURY, MA — October 13, 2026 — Bay Path Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, a member of locally owned BaneCare Management, has earned the new Gold Trophy designation from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), recognizing the center’s strong performance in quality, staffing and regulatory compliance.
The Gold Trophy designation is part of a new CMS initiative recognizing high-performing nursing homes that meet established standards for quality of care, staffing and regulatory compliance. Approximately 12% of nursing homes nationwide currently qualify for the designation, which is displayed on Medicare’s official Care Compare website.
In addition to earning the Gold Trophy designation, Bay Path maintains a 5-Star Overall Rating from CMS, the highest rating available through the federal government’s Five-Star Quality Rating System. Together, these distinctions underscore the center’s ongoing commitment to providing high-quality care to residents and families throughout Duxbury and the South Shore.
“We are incredibly proud of the entire Bay Path team for earning this recognition,” said Kristen Reilly McHugh, Executive Director. “This achievement reflects the dedication of our nurses, caregivers, department leaders and support staff who work tirelessly to provide exceptional care every day. It is a testament to their commitment to our residents and the families who entrust us with their care.”
The CMS Gold Trophy program identifies nursing homes with strong performance across key measures of quality, staffing and regulatory compliance. Facilities qualifying for the designation may also be eligible for a streamlined survey process, reflecting their performance in these important areas.
Located in Duxbury, Bay Path provides subacute rehabilitation, skilled nursing services and long-term care to residents throughout the South Shore. As part of BaneCare, a locally owned and operated organization solely serving Massachusetts communities, Bay Path emphasizes personalized care, clinical excellence and a strong connection to the community.
