Position Name: RN/LPN CHARGE NURSE - up to a $10,000. sign on bonus for full time any 3-11 shift. Other shifts available
Location: Springside - BaneWest


Springside is currently looking for an RN/LPN.    Please note that 3:00 - 11:00 PM shift nurses  are eligible for $10, 000 sign on bonus for the next two weeks only.  Apply today to qualify for the bonus.

Qualifications:

Holds and maintains current License or Registration in accordance with State regulations.

1 year Long Term/Geriatric/Rehabilitation education or care experience preferred.

Acute hospital medical/surgical experience desirable.

Knowledge of nursing theory and practice including the administration of medications.

Holds and maintains current CPR certification in accordance with Nursing Standards of Practice.

Position Summary

Responsible for overseeing Certified Staff and for the delivery of optimal quality of care to adult and geriatric residents on the assigned nursing unit.

Working Conditions

Works in office area(s) as well as throughout the nursing services area (i.e. dining rooms, nurse’s stations, patient/resident rooms, etc.).

Sits, stands, bends, lifts and moves intermittently during working hours.

Is subject to frequent interruptions.

Is involved with patient/residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstances.

Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset patients/residents, family members, personnel and visitors.

Communicates with the medical staff, nursing personnel, and other department supervisors.

Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.

Attends and participates in continuing educational programs.

Is subject to falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc. throughout the day.

Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses.

 

Specific Requirements

Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.

Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, patients/residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.

Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines that pertain to long-term care.

Must be willing to work harmoniously with professionals and non-professional personnel

Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult patients/residents.

Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.

Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of the other individuals in the workplace.

Physical and Sensory Requirements  (With or Without the aid of Mechanical Devices)

 

Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.

Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.

Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.

Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met

Must function independently, and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with patients/residents, personnel, and support agencies.

Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability.

Must be able to relate to work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times, hostile people within the facility/unit.

Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of 50 pounds.

Must be able to assist in the evacuation of patients/residents during emergency situations.
