Position Name: Second Cook
Location: John-Scott House - BaneSouth


  • Collaborate with the First Cook to prepare high volume, quality meals, cook soups and gravies from scratch
  • Rotate stock items as per established procedures
  • Ensure that the food prep area and kitchen are cleaned and sanitized at the end of your shift
  • Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures
  • Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items
  • Restock kitchen for subsequent shifts
  • Previous cooking experience preferred, in restaurant, long-term care facility or hospital setting, particularly with supervisory responsibilities

Other Alternate Cook skills

  • Able to read and follow standardized recipes
  • ServeSafe Certification preferred
  • Able to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen atmosphere
  • Strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures
  • High school diploma/GED
